There are a lot of historical maps of cities available on the Internet, and many of them have been published in various books. At the same time, if you want to locate objects on those historical maps today, you need some kind of a reference system, which can bind those old maps to current landscape. Assuming that street network of cities usually doesn’t change much over time, I have created a simple web map application, where current street network covers the historical map. Different maps are in chronological order and easily switchable, thus making city’s development traceable through time.
