The Odessa Humanitarian Tradition Society, Center for Humanitarian Education of the
National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine,
and the Estonian Literary Museum
will organize
15th International Scientific and Theoretical conference "On the Nature of Laughter" / "Laughter and Its Features"
in Tartu (Estonia) on May 18-21, 2023.
We invite you to take part in the conference. Please, until March 1, 2023, send an abstract (no
more than 200 words), title of the report and information about the author (Full name, place of
work, position, academic degree, home address, phone, e-mail) by email
victorlevchenko1961@gmail.com. The organizers of the conference reserve the right to select
materials for participation. The materials sent are not returned.
The selected conference proceedings will be published as a special issue of the Doxa magazine
( Doxa.onu.edu.ua). The language of the articles is either English or Ukrainian.
For publication, the speakers are invited to send the text of the article (up to 22,000 characters) by 15 November 2023.
Send the texts as Word files by email to victorlevchenko1961@gmail.com.
The articles should include:
- Abstract (200 words) and keywords (3-5) in Ukrainian, Russian and English;
- Research questions that are relevant to the current academic topics, highlighting how the study goes beyond the state-of-art in the field;
- Theoretical background of the study;
- Research data and methods;
- Analysis of the data;
- Conclusions and prospects for further research;
- Endnotes (if any);
- List of references
- If there is a source in Cyrillic, then at the end of the article you need to make another list
of references, in which the name of the source is written in Cyrillic. In addition to this, these
titles should be transliterated in Latin characters and added to the main reference list; please
translate the titles of articles, journals, and books into English and place them in square brackets, for example:
Kovaleva, N. (2013). Sovremennyiy horeograficheskiy teatr: tanets kak «priglashenie k Realnomu» [Modern choreographic theatre: Dance as an «invitation to the Real»], in: Arkadiya, Odessa, № 1 (36), pp. 22–26)
- pages are not numbered.
Style guide for references
In-text:
In square brackets: [Kovaleva 2013: 17] – where the first number is the year of publication, the second one is the page number.
