Balkan and Baltic States in United Europe: History, Religions, and Cultures (2006-2008)

The project studies the dynamics of cultural processes; national, ethnic and religious identities and the possible emergence of EU-identity in Estonia (EU member state) and in Bulgaria (preparing to join EU). In highlight will be:

• expressions of traditional culture in town and village;
• changes in the role of religious culture (among confession and minority groups);
• general and specific features of culture transmission models;
• identities.

The base material is that on cultural heritage, folklore, ethnomusicology and ethnology.
