Author Biographies

Ekaterina Anastasova,

PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies with Ethnographic Museum, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia. She works in the field of social and cultural development of the contemporary society. Her research explores the problems of ethnicity, religiosity, and nationalism in the post-socialist space.

Mare Kõiva

is Leading Research Fellow at the Department of Folkloristics of the Estonian Literary Museum, whose main research areas cover belief narratives and mythology, and recently also relations between humans and animals, multilocal ways of living, and small nations’ ways of self-expression.

Sergey Troitskiy,

PhD, philosopher and culturologist, currently a senior researcher at the Estonian Literary Museum. He headed the Research Centre for Cultural Exclusion and Frontier Zones (CEFZ) of the Sociological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. His research interests include history and theory of culture, cultural exclusion and frontier zones, trauma and memory studies. He participated in several research projects on topics in these fields of interest.
