Rasa Paukštytė-Šaknienė, PhD, senior researcher at the Department of Ethnology and Anthropology, Lithuanian Institute of History, Vilnius, Lithuania. She’s a member of the Committee of Ethnic Culture of the Republic of Lithuania. She’s a member of Editorial board of the Journal ‘Etnografija’ ( National Museum of Lithuania), periodical issue ‘Cultural Heritage of Northern Lithuania’ and “The Yearbook of Vilnius History”. She has field works in Lithuania, Byelorussia, Poland, Latvia and Bulgaria. She’s a member of SIEF (Ritual Year WG). Her research interests are in the field of traditional and modern culture, family, neighborhood, ethnic minorities, ethnology of city, the history of ethnology and festivity.
