Inese Runce, PhD is a Leading Researcher at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology, University of Latvia, lecturer in the Baltic history, cultural and religious studies at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Latvia. She holds a doctorate in history. Inese Runce graduated from Rēzekne University College, Faculty of Humanities, Fordham University Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education (NY, USA) and University of Latvia (Faculty of History and Philosophy).
Her research and expertise fields are the relations between the State and Church, history of Church in Latvia, regional and religious studies, history and cultural studies of the Baltics. She is the author of ‘The Vacillating Double Games. Church - State Relation in Latvia: 1906-1940’ (2013, in Latvian), and author, editor and co-editor of numerous academic publications.
