Anete Karlsone

Anete Karlsone (Dr. hist.) is an ethnologist educated at the University of Latvia. She is a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Latvian History at the Uiversity of Latvia. Her scientific interests include the cultural history and heritage, ethnicity and nationalism, material and intangible cultural heritage and national identity, the invented traditions, history of national costumes, history of textiles. She is the author of two monographies: Song Festivals and the Development of National-Style Dress in Latvia in the late 19th and 20th century (2013) and Patterned sashes: The Common Cultural Layer (2014).
