Eda Kalmre

Eda Kalmre is senior research fellow at the Department of Folkloristics of the Estonian Literary Museum. She has written monographs, articles, anthologies and  textbooks  about  Estonian  children  and  youth  lore,  about  the  types  of  Estonian  folktales,  history  and  methodology  of  folklore.  But  she’s  special  attention in recent decades has been directed towards contemporary folklore, legends, rumours, history and media relations, socio-political aspects of folk tales.  Her  monographs  “The  Human  Sausage  Factory:  A  Study  of  Post-War  Rumour in Tartu” (Rodopi 2013), “What a Wonderful World of Legends” (ELM Scholarly Press 2018) are concerned with this field.
